About
Mee Panyar (“electrical craft” in Burmese) emboldens rural communities to transition to renewables-based electrification through inclusive hands-on technical training and community mobilization programs. They empower communities to install and maintain their own solar microgrids, ensure that communities are supported to reliably operate the system, and maximize the benefits of electrification through local ownership. Most of their partners are accessing 24/7 affordable electricity for the first time, displacing diesel and providing new economic opportunities throughout the community.
HF Partnership
Mee Panyar is working with a community in Myanmar to provide 24/7 solar electricity to their households, public services, and businesses. Community members will receive in-depth training and support in order to safely and reliably manage the mini-grid and keep the lights on for many years to come. Alongside the solar system, community members will also work together to incubate emerging sustainable businesses, catalyzing long-term economic development.
